Our Process

Design

We collaborate closely with your team to understand project intent, circulation, focal points, and the overall design language. Our lighting concepts are developed to complement — never compete with — the architecture and landscape, ensuring the experience at night reflects the integrity of the design.

Develop

We manage every stage of implementation, including fixture specification, placement strategy, wiring, controls, and precise aiming. Our team works seamlessly within the broader construction schedule to prevent lighting from becoming a bottleneck or afterthought — protecting your timeline and your client experience.

Maintain

Great lighting deserves great stewardship. After installation, we provide ongoing system care, performance checks, and client-facing support — so your projects continue to look exceptional long after completion, without adding to your workload.

Our Process

Design

We begin with a thoughtful consultation to understand your home, landscape, and how you use your outdoor spaces. From there, we create a lighting design that highlights key architectural and garden features while bringing comfort, security, and ambiance to your evenings at home.

Develop

Our team handles the full installation — from fixture placement and wiring to aiming, calibration, and walk-throughs. Every detail is completed with care and respect for your property. You’ll experience the transformation the very first night your system comes to life.

Maintain

Your lighting system should look as beautiful years from now as it does on day one. We offer seasonal and on-demand maintenance to keep everything performing at its best — with ongoing support from a team you already know and trust.

You are a poet... When Irene and I shut down the lights in the Den, the outdoors suddenly came in. IT WAS TRULY MAGICAL.. In the novel The Cather in the Rye. Buddy is speaking to his brother and states "Sometimes you read something so profound you want to call the author". Tom this is that call.. You are a true artist and Irene & I wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your talent.

It was a pleasure doing business with you and the AfterDark Team. The night lighting you installed for us lived up to your poetic vision and enthusiastic prediction. Enchanting was the look and feel we wanted and your well-planned design achieved just that. We were right to trust your warm smile and friendly approach and were rewarded with your Artistry. It will be easy to reccomend your work to our friends and neighbors.
